Wedding #6 Kristen and Bryce

One of my friends from when I was younger, Kristen, informed me she was getting married in December. I was so excited when she asked me to do her wedding flowers.

Getting married in the Pacific Northwest and in December presents a few problems. First of all, many flowers are 'out of season' during the month of December. In addition to having a more difficult time affording the flowers you want in the Winter months, the weather isn't always cooperative. Fortunately for Bryce and Kristen, they had only a minimal amount of rain on their wedding day.

It proved to provide a artistic picture though, like the one above.

After discussing with Kristen the needs and wants for her wedding flowers we came to the conclusion that for the 'look' she wanted, it was most cost effective to do silk flowers. Kristen was a wonderful bride to work with, as she already had a vision in mind of what she wanted her wedding to look like and was very clear in communicating what that vision was.

She wanted a very traditional/ classic wedding with a modern twist. We ended up doing very classical flowers like the calla lily and peony with hints of modern flair; adding in pearl accents and ostrich feathers. Her colors were quite modern, with a bright green, chocolate brown and white. I love the final products.

And I was equally pleased that Kristen enjoyed them as well!

All this mess on my dining room table turned into..............

.....A beautiful bride's bouquet.

I was so happy to do Kristen's flowers for her wedding. I wish both Kristen and Bryce the best of luck in their new life together!
